“For in hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what is seen? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.” Romans 8:24-25
We hope and we wait for healing, for patience. These are not tangible, but we know God and wait with patience.
Thursday, December 18
“I am going to prepare a place for you…when everything is ready I will come and get you…” John 14:2-3
This life is preparation for the next.
Wednesday, December 17
“Not my will but thy will be done.” Luke 22:42
This helps me hold the course until I see what God has in mind for me.
Tuesday, December 16
“Jesus said, ‘Lo, I am with you always.’” Matthew 28:20
Jesus is always with us as we wait for times in our lives.
Monday, December 15
“Satan begone, for in our house we serve the Lord!” combination of Matthew 4:10 and Joshua 24:15
It calms my worry, casts out the Devil!
Sunday, December 14 – Third Sunday of Advent
“For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope. Then when you call upon me and come and pray to me, I will hear you. When you search for me, you will find me; if you seek me with all your heart, I will let you find me, says the Lord, and I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and all the places where I have driven you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back to the place from which I sent you into exile.” Jeremiah 29:11-14
This is a passage that has always given me hope whenever I am waiting for the future to unfold. I find great comfort in being assured that God has a plan and that this plan is good. No matter how far I may seem to be from God due to what happens in life, I have hope.
Saturday, December 13
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31
This tells me that by having everlasting hope and faith in the Lord “Good things will come.” I love the imagery of soaring like eagles
